In case you need more info, it's safe to say:ħ600i equals to actual 3250 dpi (real, tested).Īnd for reference, a Coolscan 9000 is about 3900 - 4000 dpi. Is the difference in quality enough to justify the 8100? Would you risk re-buying the 7600i from that guy, since he has proof it works? Long story short, the 8100 is better, but considerably more expensive (by miles). I have the option of buying it again, or buying a 8100 from ebay. Hard to be sure, but yeah, let's assume it works. So I got my money back, and the seller tested again his scanner, and surprise, it works fine on his laptop! I returned to the seller, who was surprised, claiming the scanner was fine last time he checked.
As I told in my previous thread, I bought a Plustek 7600i and it came "defective", making a ton of noise while trying to move the sensor and creating a messed up file in the process.
